Kim has been a lifelong resident of East Central Illinois and an avid hunter for over 20 years. She especially enjoys bear hunting but also has antelope, turkey, and whitetail to her credit. While she prefers to hunt with a bow, currently a PSE X-Force SS, she has never missed a firearm deer season in Illinois!
Kim also spent several years on amateur bass fishing circuits, becoming the first woman member of Lincoln Land Bassmasters and later serving that club in the capacity of President. During that time she learned the art of rod building and repair, a service which continues to be sought out today.
Her love of the outdoors eventually led her into the world of taxidermy and tracking dogs. She currently owns ‘Aryl’, a wirehaired dachshund who is used to recover wounded deer. She is also an award winning taxidermist and owns Hurricane Creek Taxidermy. She takes great pride in her work and loves the challenge of recreating wildlife as realistically as possible.
Outside of the hunting world, Kim works a regular job as a manufacturing accountant. She enjoys artifact collecting, genealogy, and is looking forward to competing in duathlons in the coming year.
Kim is a proud member of:
National Taxidermists Association, Illinois Taxidermist Association, National Rifle Assocation (NRA – Life Member), Women Hunters (Member Services Director), Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA), United Blood Trackers Association (UBTA), Verein Deutsch Drahthaar Group North America (Hunting Dogs)
Kim also pro staffs for Harmon Deer Scents.
